Pu'u Ke-ahi-a-Kahoe Peak

Pu'u Ke-ahi-a-Kahoe Peak

This turned into a long hike...
I started at Moanalua Valley Park and headed up the ridge. The problem was that I started too late in the day and under estimated the time that it would take for me to complete the hike. When I reached the peak, I was completely out of water and food; the clouds had already rolled in and the sun was setting. So I decided to head back down the the Haiku Stairs instead of going down the same way I went up. I did have to cut through one persons yard to finally get back to the street. Now that I had finally made it down, there was still the little issue of how I was to get back to my car. I ended up walking a few more miles to Kam. Hwy. and catching a bus to the Ala Moana shopping center. (btw. people look at you strangely when you have mud all over you while riding the bus... you get plenty of room though!) Anyway, once I made it into town I hailed a taxi to take me about 8 miles to where I had parked my car. A long day but it was totally worth it.
